Every time we turn on the radio or read a paper, it seems that the bad news just keeps on coming. Well you know what? I’m SICK of it! That’s why taking a 1/2 hour vacation from chaos to watch silly comedies like 2 Broke Girls help.

In 2 Broke Girls, Max and Caroline are two young women from entirely different lifestyles who find themselves working the night shift at a hip, all-night diner together. They dream of opening their own cupcake business, and realize that the quickest way to success comes through an honest day’s work.  How refreshing!

I know first hand what it’s like to start a business and follow your own path, and is sure isn’t easy. When my son was less than a year old, I convinced my husband to turn over our $1800 tax refund so that I may start a private concierge company back in 1997.  It was incredibly hard work, but eventually I was able to grow the business and create a comfortable career though hard work and dedication.

I’m fairly certain that there a lot more than 2 broke girls trying to make it out in the big wide world these days.  I’m glad to see a show that represents women who are working hard to create their own destiny — even if it does include ocassional crotch humor and boyfriend trouble.  This is a funny show, with two female leads that have great chemistry and comic timing.

2 Broke Girls is nominated for Best New Comedy for the Peoples Choice Awards. VOTE NOW!
