An Evening with Le Cirque, Traveling “Pop-Up” Dinner Series heading to San Diego

The University Club Atop Symphony Towers to be Transformed - for One Night Only - into a Legendary Le Cirque Restaurant Experience

ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs, andlegendary Manhattan restaurant Le Cirque announced today a program to create a traveling dinner series, “An Evening with Le Cirque,” which will bring to life the Le Cirque experience in 10 of ClubCorp’s family of private clubs around the nation. The dinners, being held March 9 through June 1, 2012, will allow members and the public alike to meet Le Cirque’s new chef, Olivier Reginensi, and dine and visit with members of the Maccioni family, which opened the original Le Cirque in New York and now owns nine restaurants throughout the world, and enjoy Le Cirque’s authentic and timeless French cuisine. The series arrives in San Diego on May 11th. Other southern California stops in the series include Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Orange County.

Le Cirque, ranked among the best restaurants in the world and a favorite gathering place of celebrities, political figures, and high society for more than 35 years, will be showcased in the dining rooms of 10 private clubs in the ClubCorp family for one night only. “An Evening with Le Cirque” will feature a three-course menu with classic Le Cirque dishes and new items created by Chef Olivier.

Diners in each city will have the chance to experience the iconic wines of several benchmark producers from around the world.  Marchesi Antinori, which has been making wine in Italy for 26 generations, will offer its Antica Napa Valley Chardonnay from the Antinori family estate on Atlas Peak.  Two additional Antinori wine projects, crafted in partnership with Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, will be poured:  Col Solare (a Cabernet-based blend from Washington’s Columbia Valley) and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars ARTEMIS (Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon). Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rose from France will round out the wine selections.

To further enhance the Le Cirque experience, design elements will feature Le Cirque’s whimsical china, donned with their iconic monkey motif, flown in from New York, logoed menus and even the Le Cirque sugar sachets. As part of the club’s transformation, photos of Le Cirque’s founder, Siro Maccioni, with celebrities will be enlarged and displayed throughout the dining room’s main entrance. In addition, diners will receive a copy of Mr. Maccioni’s biography, Sirio: The Story of My Life and Le Cirque, which chronicles the life of the charismatic restaurateur who opened one of the most famed restaurants in New York.

“We are very excited to be holding ‘An Evening with Le Cirque’ events at so many of our clubs,” said Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp president and CEO. “ClubCorp is committed to offering first-class dining experiences to its members. These unique events take that commitment one step further, allowing members and guests to experience a part of culinary history in their own cities.”

“We are thrilled to offer members of ClubCorp’s clubs nationwide the opportunity to experience the legendary Le Cirque,” said Carlo Mantica, Co-Manager for The Maccioni Group. “This pop-up series will enable both club members and the public to enjoy the food, wine and gracious hospitality of the Le Cirque dining experience without hopping on a plane to New York.”

Admission to the events is $150 ++ per person and includes wine, dinner and a copy of Sirio: The Story of My Life and Le Cirque. For more information or to make reservations, visit www.clubcorp.com/lecirque.
